I hope to inspire a hand full of footballers and the general public with today’s read using 3 main words. These are: Patience, Determination and Perseverance.
If you possess those 3 words in your armory, you will not go wrong. Never give up on the thing that you love the most, which in this case is the beautiful game of football. It is only through these words that we are able to achieve what we want from that thing we love the most.
If there is one thing that life has taught me, it’s that every single day is a new day. And with each new day come new opportunities, the opportunity for all of us to succeed today, where you may not have done yesterday.
To give up on a dream would mean that you are giving up on life. And if you believe deep down that you have what it takes, go for it! No matter what the obstacles you face may be, try, try and try again. There is no substitute, nor shortcut to achieving what you want. In life there is always hope. And when we give up on what we love, then we are giving up on hope too. The problem with a lot of aspiring footballers in Namibia is that they are too willing to throw in the towel when things do not go their way, turning to alcohol, women and drugs. Those that give up and call it a day on their dreams have no patience, no perseverance and no determination.
You have to love something so deeply that it is worth all of the heartache, and the disappointments. By finally succeeding it will make what has gone before all the more worth it.
Challenge the norms, never accept defeat, work smarter and harder than your neighbour and never give up on your dreams. Keep motivated, choose the correct friends, be inspired, inspire others, be great by choice and always remember to chase the dream.
I leave you with some thoughts that I hope will inspire you to chase the dream.
There are very few things worse than regret. Don’t regret today tomorrow.
Your dreams and your actions define you. If you do what others tell you to do then you’re letting them define you.
Everyone wants to be remembered. We remember those that followed their dreams.
Dreamers who took action have created everything around you.
Following your dreams does not always turn out as planned, but that makes them even the more memorable.
When people you know and don’t know see you following your dreams it will inspire some of them to follow their own.
You may live forever, but you might also die tomorrow.
