Apology to Nujoma for mistaken identity

IN last week’s edition of the Confidente, we carried a story under the heading ‘Grazing privilege for Nujoma causes stir’ in which we erroneously stated that the Founding President and Father of the Namibian Nation, Dr Sam Nujoma had been granted the privilege to graze his cattle on a Ministry of Defence farm at the Otavi Military base. It has been brought to our attention that Dr Nujoma did not seek grazing for his cattle at the farm and that the story was based on a mistaken identity. We, therefore, would like to unreservedly apologize to the Founding President for the embarrassment the story in question might have caused him. In addition, we have addressed a personal letter to Dr. Nujoma expressing remorse at this unfortunate incident. – Editor.
