Black-Africa

By Confidénte reporter

BLACK Africa and Orlando Pirates have been drawn against each other in the pick of the Namibia Premier League’s (NPL) round 8 fixtures that will kick off at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek on Friday.
The derby which has traditionally drawn the label of the most important fixture on the NPL calendar has been the relegated to a battle for second place after Tigers’ unbeaten start to the 2013 season propelled them to the top of the log with 17 points after seven rounds of competition.
The derby, which is the only NPL match scheduled to take place on Friday, will see both teams fighting for maximum points in a bid to be level on points with Tigers as both teams have acquired 14 points from their matches thus far. The two teams also have identical records after having won five matches, drawn two and lost one of the seven matches they have played.
Meanwhile, Eleven Arrows will host Tura Magic at the Kuisebmund Stadium in Walvis Bay in the first of the NPL matches slated for Saturday. LHU Blue Waters will travel to Rundu to face United Stars, while the other team from Rundu, Rundu Chiefs, will take on Civics at the Sam Nujoma stadium as it looks to loosen its grip on the 12th-placed log-standing it currently occupies.
The last match of the weekend will see the log leaders, Tigers, vying to consolidate their unparalleled start to the season when they take on coastal team Blue Boys at the Sam Nujoma stadium after their last match against defending champions, Black Africa, ended in a draw last Friday.
