THE controversial pastor of the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church in Namibia, Pedro Marcelino Moussongela has come out guns blazing as he claims to be the rightful owner and founder of Ongenga English private primary school.
According to court documents, the alleged rapist Congolese national testified under oath that he is the owner of the private school based at Ongenga.
Moussongela is also said to have other private schools at Ruacana and Omafo.
He claimed that he managed to establish the private schools in 2006, after he allegedly sold a private school and other private property of his now deceased wife, Linda Nangolo Nakashololo at Ongwediva.
Last week, Moussongela made a brief court appearance in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court where he was denied bail on charges of rape, abortion and human trafficking.
It was previously reported that Moussongela had trafficked five of his children and a grandchild to the United Kingdom for the purpose of exploitation in 2012.
He is also accused of assaulting one of his children’s mothers in front of the Nam Human Rights offices.
When contacted for comment, Ongenga school principal, Natalia Nafuka rubbished the claims saying that she is the rightful owner and founder of the school.
“Pedro is lying. That is my own school that I registered in 2006. I do not know why he goes around saying that he owns the school, when it is all lies. There must be something wrong with him in his head,” blasted Nafuka.
When asked what kind of relationship she has with Moussongela, Nafuka declared that Moussongela was a friend and a mentor who helped her to establish her own private school.
“Pedro is my former boss and a friend that I have worked for as a teacher at his private school at Ongwediva before the school closed down in 2004. He has also been my mentor, who has helped me to establish my own school,” she said.
She furthermore said that the Ongenga private school was established in 2005 and is registered with the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and SME Development in 2006.
The school has employed 43 teachers with more than 1000 pupils and 10 labourers.
Moussongela has been remanded in police custody and his case was postponed to August 31.
