TAKE a peak in your closet; do you spot a high-waist A-line skirt in there?
If you hesitated to answer that question, chances are you are suffer from the shopaholic’s curse, where you can’t keep up with all the garments you purchase, so rummage through it thoroughly.
The high-waist, A-line number you are looking for is a skater skirt, a staple item that should be in every woman’s wardrobe.
Whether you are petite or curvaceous, a skater skirt is one of those clothing items that you can never go wrong with. It hugs you in all the right places, and is forgiving in the areas that you find the least appealing.
You can dress it up or down to suit any occasion and its timeless, so if you are a loyal trend follower you do not have to worry about not keeping up because it is timeless.
The only thing that one always has to be mindful about when buying a skater skirt is the length of the skirt. Thin or petite women with small hips and a pert gluteus maximus can get away with wearing a short skater skirt.
However, if you have hips and thighs that do not discriminate against pies and would give Kim Kardashian a run for her money, you should buy a slightly longer skirt. This is because your well-endowed derriere makes the length of the skirt in the back shorter and it looks longer in the front.
Skater skirts are both summer and winter friendly; you can wear it with a t-shirt in the summer and pair it with thick stockings and a long sleeved Peter Pan collar shirt in the winter.
To dress it down you can pair it with a crop top and a chunky knitted long cardigan or pair it with high-heels, a tuxedo shirt and a blazer to match.
Skater skirts are so versatile it’s hard to go wrong because they match with almost anything, and as said, they never go out of style. If you do not have one by know, you know what to get during your next shopping trip.
