The second consecutive Husab Marathon billed for the coastal town of Swakopmund is again expected to attract competitive local talent to fight for top honours.
The premier Husab Marathon is scheduled for 13 August, of which interested runners have until next week Monday to register.
According to Husab Mine Public Relations Officer, Nomvula Kambinda, the maiden event attracted more than 500 entries with runners from the Namibian army and police having dominated the marathon and 10km race, respectively.
Entry forms can be obtained from the Swakop Uranium office in Swakopmund, and registration will take place on 12 August from 15h00 to 21h00 at the Vineta Sports Grounds.
Transport will be provided for runners from Walvis Bay, Swakopmund and Arandis to the Husab Access road, from the following points.
Pick up in Walvis Bay will be at 05H30 from the taxi rank in Nathaniel Maxuilili Street; pick up in Swakopmund will be at 06H00 from the Dome, while pick up in Arandis will be at 06h30, from the Zebra bus stop.
