IN what can be described as a rewarding partnership, nurtured over the years, MTC has once again decided to throw its weight behind the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF) with a sponsorship to the value of N$412 500.
The value of the sponsorship is broken into two components of which N$212 500 is in cash and the remaining N$200 000 is in kind support towards the hosting of the Ongwediva Trade Fair. The sponsorship secures MTC as an anchor sponsor for the umpteenth time, and bespoke of the telecommunications giant’s passion for supporting local economic empowerment programmes. Manager for sponsorship and promotions Joseph Mundjindi says, “Over the years MTC has continued to support the OATF and have been doing so in the greatest view that the OATF continues in our opinion to be a catalyst for new business development, employment, wealth creation and business innovations aided by technology. “One will never amply emphasise the significance of this exhibiting fair; the imitable trace that it sets; and its transmission of positive economic impact to the populace which concurrently extends at a macroeconomic level.” Addressing delegates at an OATF gala dinner in Ongwediva on Saturday, town CEO Damien Egumbo said that OATF promises to bring to the forefront and introduce many to active economic sectors in Namibia under one roof and to make the best of this year’s exhibits as articulated in the theme for this year.
“The theme for this year’s trade fair speaks volumes of our resolve, as a leading trade and exhibition platform, to facilitate, inspire, mobilise, drive and steer the process of change in both the public and business sectors. We firmly believe that marketing is the key to success but we equally believe that visual presentation of your products and service offering brings out the best and creates a lasting impression,” said Egumbo.
A further amount of more than N$1,2 million was raised during the gala dinner event. The Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair will start on August 26 and ends on September 3, and as has been the norm in previous years the Head of State is expected to be the key note speaker at the official opening amongst other notable business and public leaders.
