Briefly describe MTC’s involvement with OATF as the main sponsor over the years?
MTC’s involvement with the OATF as a main sponsor comes a long way and we have just renewed it for another three (3) years. We view our involvement as natural law of responsibility to which we attracted to. Our customers are members of the community, without their support, entities like MTC would not exist, hence the desire that MTC wants to be associated with the communities whose generosity has given us this wonderful opportunity to be us. We believe that Corporate Namibia must play to become involved in supporting local initiatives and this is evident about our involvement over the years with the OATF.
In what way does this sponsorship partnership benefit the MTC brand?
If you look at the OATF’s progress over the years, you will note that it has been around for a while and growing exponentially over the years. It also attracts the right mix of target audiences, both from a Corporate and visitors’ perspective. From a brand position, we are extremely delighted to be associated with the OATF, because it provides MTC with the perfect platform to engage customers, promote and drive sales as well innovation within our operational philosophy of making sure that we become the communication partner of choice, for our customers.
What are the main objectives behind this types of sponsorship?
MTC has always believe in investing within Communities in which it operates and the North has always been one of the main customer base for us.
Sponsorship works best in the context of a relationship and that can be said about our relationship with the OATF Organizing Committee. You will see that all Namibian Corporate Companies supports or come back to the Show year after year after year due to the excellent manner in which the Show is organized and marketed, which has made it to become a brand unto itself. This synergy also created expectations from our customer’s side in that MTC’s presence brings about special promotions, show packages and competitions taking place for the duration of the event, a brand that the buying public begins to count on and expect.
At MTC we hold true to our values of connecting communities through entrepreneurial and community-based initiated support. We are proud of the fact that MTC supports almost every Trade Fair or Festivals in all towns in Namibia, because we understand that your development is our development, and that together we can help each other grow and continue to make that connection.
What are the new focus areas of the renewed sponsorship?
We have committed to support the OATF, for the next three years as part of a renewed sponsorship agreement commencing 2016 until 2019. Our strategic focus has always been geared towards provision of communication solutions, sales, services geared towards the added value and convenience of customer satisfaction.
At the fair for the period under review, two key projects which will be beneficial to the OATF will be both the “Osmartphona” Campaign and the “Wanna be a Million yeah” Competition as our presence here will afford our Northern based customers the opportunity to come to our stand and participate in the Wanna be a Million year and also get the opportunity to come and buy “affordable” Smartphone handsets that are specifically tailored for the entry segment of the smart phone market. This are in tandem with our promotional offering that will be offered at the show.
How much is the sponsorship and how long will it run?
The total sponsorship amounts to N$412 500, which is broken down into two components, namely, N$212 500 in cash and N$200 000 in-kind that will be utilized as marketing support towards branding collateral; Committee items advertising etc. As per agreement in place it runs until 2018/2019.
Finally, how does this sponsorship tie in with the broader Harambee Prosperity Plan, if it does it?
The HHP is a well-crafted piece of policy, which MTC has adopted internally and created synergies with it towards our operational ideals. As Namibia’s strive towards a knowledge based society it is imperative to growing Namibia’s prosperity under the Harambee Prosperity Plan, an objective which MTC has set itself a goal to realize with its latest market offering of providing a range of service to enable our customer access to modern network convenience and internet connectivity. By way of observation, each year MTC introduces better devices at OATF and this is in response to market studies which provides us vital information about the type of service and solution that our customers want. By listening to them, we in turn are creating the space needed for our customer convenience in their ability to utilize the digital space towards their economic, social and prosperity drive.
