REGISTERED six months ago the My Ongoma Media aims to establish a link between local singers and corporate organisations in Namibia.
My Ongoma Media is owned by Dragan Djokic well known as Antonio, local popular DJ Arafat Muhuure together with Glo production.
”The My Ongoma Media cc is here to unite all the artists in the country, which is not really the case at the moment,” said Djokic
Djokic believes that the corporate world will only take artists seriously and offer them assistance when they are organised and working together as a team.
He further confirmed that they have begun with their first project already titled ‘One for all’. The project only involves top female singers such as; Sally, Chikune, Ann Singer, Lady May, Adora, Female Donkey, Tequila, Blossom, Monique English and many more and was launched at Tornado Restaurant in Windhoek on Sunday.
In the project, the above mentioned artists will be working together and featuring each other on songs that will be on a 10-track album to be release soon.
Djokic confirmed to Confidente that one single titled ‘Don’t give up’ by Anne-singer, Adora, Promise and Monique English is done and is expected to be playing on radio stations across the country during the course of next week.
The project main sponsor is Namibia Breweries Limited with other sponsorships and assistance from private entities in the entertainment industry like Antonio’s’ Art, Deal Done records and Triple seven (777).
“We are currently busy with other corporate organisations to come on board, because this is an expensive project, and organisations only want cover what is good for their promotion and are refusing to cover for the whole project,” he said
“The main objectives of this project are uniting all the local artists, which is a challenge now and further to empower women in the country,” said Djokic.
“If all things go well, we plan to visit all 14 regions across the country, with our artists performing and giving motivational speeches to children in schools” he added.
Djokic also informed Confidente that the Government through the National Arts Council and the Ministry of Education: art department is very interested and they are expecting financial support from them soon.
