Namibian sprinter Ananias Shikongo has bagged his country’s first-ever Paralympic gold medal by winning the 200m race in the T13 category, for people with a visual impairment, in Rio.
Shikongo, in a Paralympic record time of 22.44 seconds beat home favourite Felipe Gomes – who was the champion in London in 2012.
Afterwards he told the BBC that it was a big achievement for both himself and his country. Images
