WINDHOEK residents last Thursday, had a close-up look at various models of the Ferrari vehicle brand. Driving from the Tacoma Shell service station along Independence Avenue to the Lafrenz Shell service station, the five Ferraris drew huge interest from large crowds.
Some spectators got a once in a lifetime chance to view the Ferraris up-close, and got their questions answered by Ferrari experts.
The expedition was organised by Vivo Energy Namibia, the company that distributes and markets Shell products which was showcasing Shell’s fuel technology along with Ferrari, its technical partner in Namibia.
For enthusiasts who missed the parade in Windhoek, the Ferraris were on show at the Gobabis motor rally and two Shell services stations in Gobabis on Saturday.
Johan Grobbelaar, Vivo Energy Namibia MD said, “Shell’s commitment to innovation through motorsports, together with Ferrari, is an integral part of its extensive research and development programme. This is key to making better fuels for our customers”.
He added that, “Shell’s technical partnership with Ferrari provides us with an environment to test Shell V-Power fuel in extreme conditions. This provides us with a better understanding of what will deliver improved power and performance”.
The Shell V-Power fuel is said to contain 99 percent of the same types of compounds found in the Shell V-Power race fuel being used by Scuderia Ferrari in the FIA Formula One World Championships. In addition, every new Ferrari leaves the Ferrari headquarters in Maranello with a full tank of Shell V-Power Fuel.
Shell customers can also benefit from this unique fuel, as Shell V-Power is available to in Namibia.
