Deputy Minister of Sport, Youth and Culture, Agnes Tjongarero, called on the senior national women indoor team to edge out visiting South African counterparts next weekend.
The South African counterpart is expected in Namibia next week Thursday, in which they engage the national side in the Five-Test matches at the Dome venue in Swakopmund.
The five-test matches will kick off from 25 to 27 November at the coastal town.
Namibia enjoys a psychological advantage over their South African counterparts after having beaten them twice in their past three encounters.
Investec has announced a sponsorship of N$ 40 000 for the Indoor Test Series while Seaflower will inject a cool N$ 890 400 for the senior women national indoor team for its World Cup qualifications slated for next year including the team’s training camp.
Ranked second on the African continent behind South Africa, Tjongarero said Government is facing a challenge when it comes to team’s financing.
She called on the national women side currently ranked 14th on the world ranking to secure qualification for the 2018 World Cup finals billed for Argentina.
