THE Touch the floor, Money maker and Xandehla, Jabule hits maker, South African house music artist Biblos will return to Namibia tomorrow for the launch of his latest offering Blowing 26 that will kick off in Windhoek before proceeding to Ondangwa and Walvis Bay respectively.
Biblos was one of the first artists to feature Big Nuz on his debut album Putsununu back in 2004. He has worked with a number of local musicians including The Dogg, Max the Don, Fishman, and Lady May; and South Africans Arthur Mafokate, Bojo Mujo, Dj Cndo, and Peterson (Zambia) and Tk Smooth (Canada).
The 17-track album entitled Blowing 26 was released early this year and on this album Biblos displays his international expertise with a more evolved house music sound mixed with different flavours. On Blowing 26 the South African musician worked with Mr Style, Trade Mark, DJ Mthombi, MA and Anita. Since the album was released it has made it to number one on Musica stores album chart as well on Hits on Mzansi charts
In a telephone interview with Confidente, Biblos said the reason he is bringing the Blowing 26 CD launch here –after a four-year absence- was because Namibia is of his favourite countries and also due to the love and support that he got from Namibians fans either through social networks and radio stations.
Biblos said he was ready to lower his entrance fees saying his tour was not about making money, but an event for the love of music and to inspire upcoming artists. He added that he wanted to make it possible for every Biblos fan at all level of life in Namibia who can afford to be in Windheok, Ondangwa or Walvis Bay at the time of the launch to attend and enjoy.
Biblos further promised his local fans an exciting show which will start off with yesteryear hits from his previous album which sold 16 000 copies in Namibia.
“Son of the soil session 1 is the album that was having Xandehla that was the biggest song in Namibia so they will be getting that. They will be getting Baby let me be your painkiller, they will be getting Touch the floor and they will be getting Money maker and Ayobaa. I will be performing all songs from all of my albums and from my new album I will perform from track 1 to track 16. After that I will give the fans a chance to choose which one of my songs they love most, that I will repeat again,” said Biblos.
He further disclosed that during the tour, he will shoot a music video with a local film company.
