AINI Kandongo (20), from Tsandi did not only walk away with a prize package worth N$30 000 after winning Miss Mshasho 2016 last weekend but was further provided with an opportunity to register her business with mentorship from entrepreneur and co-founder of Paragon Investment Holdings, Lazarus Jacobs.
In addition to the mentorship offer, Kandongo also received N$5 000 to use for her startup.
Speaking after the crowing, an overwhelmed Kandongo who is going to be the ambassador of Mshasho for the next 12 months, said she was “really honoured” because her name will go down in the history as the debutant brand ambassador of one of Namibia’s biggest music brands.
“For the fact that they chose me and they believe me I will do what is expected of me and how I am expected to do it. All I can say is that it makes me feel happy as I am going to be a businesswoman which has been one of my long term dreams. This makes me happy and I am just hoping for the best,” said Kandongo.
The other winners of the night were Tuyeni Haininga who was the second biggest winner of the night as she was capped both Miss Photogenic and first princess, Ester Shifotoka as second princess, Gerde Josua who was crowned Miss public choice, and Nelly Frans as Miss Personality.
