NAMIBIAN Afro pop and Kwaito artist Snouu, real name Joseph Mundilo, recently dropped his debut album titled Iita. The Oshiwambo word iita means war and in this album Snouu is referring to hardships that one goes through in life.
In an interview with Confidente Snouu said he worked with producers like Elvo Diergaardt of Lash Attractions, Nel D of Dee-Style Records, and Kanibal.
“My songs are based on themes and I select a theme and write towards that theme. Track 1 Tumbalambalaze which features Chikizo Fresh talks about how we despise the people who tend to forget where they come from after finding success,” said Snouu.
Track 10 ‘Let the kids play’ is an Afro pop gem which was produced, recorded and mastered by Elvo, and Snouu disclosed that it is one of his personal favourite. This song talks about the injustice done to children and encourages people to live in harmony with children and not to spoil their best moments.
Track 12 Iimaliwa featuring Exit was produced by Elvo and is a Kwaito hit. The song stresses on the importance of money and how it should spent and invested wisely. Track 6 lita which is the title of the album was also produced by Elvo and it summarises the battles of life in general.
In brief the album has 18 tracks with two instrumentals and most of the tracks on the album are of Afro pop and Kwaito genres. For the house music enthusiasts, track 4 Natango will do for them.
The album is available in selected music stores.
