…Bill only for 11 days
Imms Shikwamanda I saw this coming, some pharmacists are charging more! I suspected something is fishy.
Musa Manyando PSEMAS has been turned into a milk cow by unscrupulous private doctors. Strict audits and forensic investigations need to enforced to avoid the collapse of health care. No wonder we have experienced a proliferation of private practices.
Jenefer Biwa GRN should upgrade state hospitals and health centers to match the same standard of the private facilities. Employ the best doctors and nurses pay them well. There should be a directive that all GRN employees including the President and ministers should use state hospitals and clinics this might be part of the solution.
D-Twelf Dvd Mvula They are robbing the taxpayers
Rebekka Ndapandula Goagoses-Nekundi compare the claim amount for Sept/Oct and Nov/Dec..
Do the audit… this is exorbitant
E-star Namwiha Private doctors are making business out of patients, the story of operating pregnant women during delivery should also be investigated!
Owen Kashululu What’s wrong with that? Government is just a middleman -the Money comes from our salaries
Bonny Shafudah I have always had my suspicion on private doctors that they overcharge patients on medical aid
Prince Hafenzo Hamukwaya II Interesting piece.
Emilia Nordström Good move
Panduleni YaNdjambi Even though it’s a reactive move, it’s never too late to do something.
Trio Superfessy Good, I suspected that our medical aid are being used by ghosts. We need monthly statements to monitor our transactions
G-squared Gotty Tuhafeni PSEMAS IS CORRUPT. Those guys are eating up the money and say the private Drs claiming that money…I worked for the government for 2 years getting deducted my medical aid every month, but whenever I went to the Dr they would say my medical aid was not active until I resigned without using it at all… it means PSEMAS guys are corrupt
Seelima WaNamolo Good move though
Elsie Nghidinihamba Is high time for GRN to gives us access to view our medical aid accounts like private medical aids do. Sometimes other doctors use our medical aids to treat people we don’t know. When you go to hospital they tell u u have exploited your medical aid for that year but u were never sick. Enough is enough.
Maria N Amutenya Oi unbelievable
Maria Matawa Kapere Our Minister of finance is cleaning up maladministration committed over previous decades. Good work Callie.
Meriam Nicodemus When one visits the doctor at some practices, you first have to see a nurse and thereafter the doctor. The nurse will bill PSEMAS and the doctor too. This type of arrangement is draining the Fund. We need a reform urgently.
Ron Litto Shapumba Another NamPower like scheme to chop the moola via audit firms.
How much will a forensic audit cost?
Paulina Popyeni Nangolo private doctors and hospitals overcharge. That’s why the bill is up. Just admitted for a day is already thousands
Amanda Tangi Some of you are complaining about the Drs but when you are being deducted for house and transport allowances that you don’t even use or have. One thing you should understand is the service that Psemas set up not Drs
Ismarelda Hangue It is worrisome -do we have this much sick people in Namibia? Just asking.
Piteimo M Hainyanyula inflating prices too…an audit is a good move..
Abigail Vigar But can they afford the audit?
Gerald Fourie Good move Mr Minister… start your investigations with these zim doctors…
Edgar Minyoi Doctors are definitely overcharging and won’t be surprised if they are making up bills
La Ija Hafeni Some doctors are just frauds, they charge for things they haven’t done, and this GRN is not serious, they give these foreign doctors private practices, who haven’t even worked for state even for 5 years, no wonder there’s no money in the country
Kavenaa Mauha Good these private doctors are corrupt, most of them especially the foreigners.
Arnolduz Garibasên Seibeb Come start in the South
Hastings Khasi I certainly believe somehow somewhere there are some irregularities on how these doctors and pharmacies charge civil servants in order to access their claims…
Zane Zanell Kamati These are the kind of Ministers we want in Namibia, salute sir, not forgetting swartbooi, one of the true leaders.
Mutatee Mengo I will only comment after the forensic audit investigation’s outcome.
Patrick Eiseb Its good stop the Rot, corruption must fall
Nepaya La Haipya No wonder the PSEMAS has insufficient funds..
Erastus Penaantu Amakali Crminals should be treated like any other criminals and this is a crime of highest order hence send them to jail!
Natangwe Mbeeli Private doctors are over charging the patients, imagine just a consultation is costing more than N$200 without being treated but just to get a date for your appointment.
Amoom Fill’e This is a poorly managed scheme with lots of risk and no risk strategy in place….public servants bear the brunt for losses in millions.
Shilongo Spike Keep it up my President and Minister of Finance
