THE Namibia Premier League (NPL)’s Administrator, Joshua Hoebeb has shrugged off any suggestions to discuss the fate of Chairman Johnny John Doeseb at Saturday’s Extra Annual General Meeting (AGM) billed at the Soccer House.
Hoebeb told Confidente sport that normally when an extraordinary AGM is called up it deals with a specific agenda and in this case it would be an adoption of the NPL’s amended Constitution.
“The amended Constitution has been presented to the Namibia Football Association (NFA) for its perusal of which it was approved,” said Hoebeb.
He said the key area of the Constitutional amendment was to remove the functions of the NPL Management Committee which would be replaced by the Executive Committee.
Hoebeb said the new Executive Committee will oversee the operations of the NPL. The Executive Committee will consist of nine members, and not the normal six membership of the defunct MC.
”The election of the executive members will take place at an elective AGM whose date is yet to be announced, now the 16-members will only adopt the amended constitution,” he said.
“I don’t know what the problem is with our people these are individuals that must be conversant with the NPL constitution but it looks as if they don’t ever read and in turn play total ignorance on the rules and laws that govern the NPL,” he noted
