THE John and Penny (J&P Group) meat processing plant at Ondangwa has been placed amongst the best facilities in the country after scoring a seal of quality award by the Meat Board of Namibia.
Meat Board GM, Paul Strydom told Confidente that the abattoir and meat deserved the award after numerous quality assurances were conducted at the meat plant.
“Their meat of high quality and everything is in line with the seal of quality grading. This award comes with continues quality inspections at the meat plant and so far we satisfied with their quality work,” said Strydom.
The state-of-the-art meat plant is arguably one of the biggest meat processing plants in the north.
An amount of more than N$18 million was invested by the J and P Group in its new division that comprises of Top School, Top Café, Top Office, Top Mobile, Top Meat and Top Document.
CEO Phillip Nakambo said that the company ensures quality by using state-of-the art machinery.
“Our products are all sourced from local farms and they are of top quality. At the moment, we supply meat to all the abattoirs in the north, grocery shops and butcheries”.
J&P Group MD, John Endjala could not contain his excitement, saying that the award would enhance the quality of the company’s meat supply.
