THE Meat Corporation of Namibia (Meatco) recently donated N$10 000 to the Namibia Veterinary Student Association (NaVSA) at the University of Namibia’s Neudamm Campus near Windhoek. The proceeds were towards fundraising efforts and the launch of clinical studies at the college.
The event also marked the final year of the first student intake for Veterinary Medicine School. Five to six years from now, these students are going to be qualified veterinarians or animal specialists and will be entrusted with the well-being of our country’s national herd.
“Meatco’s principal raw material is cattle; therefore building mutual beneficial relations with our future veterinarians makes sense.”
According to NaVSA vice president Paul Set, “One of the association’s objectives is to create more awareness in the field of veterinary medicine studies and make it more popular amongst the youth.”
The association was established in 2014 and has around 80 members who are dedicated to enhancing the benefits of this field of study
