THIS year will mark the 10th successful hosting of the Eenhana Trade and Business Expo, with the local town council hard at work to prepare for the 31 July to 5 August event.
The expo will for the first time be hosted at the Eenhana Convention City.
Eenhana Mayor, Amos Nangolo, said that the council had budgeted N$4 million during the 2016/17 financial year, for the construction of phase three of the Eenhana Convention City and that a further N$3 million will be spent in the current financial year.
“With the successful hosting of the Eenhana Trade and Business Expo, for the past 9 years, we are now going to host the expo for the 10th consecutive time, during July and August this year.
“And what is more special this year is that we will be hosting the expo in its own venue, the Convention City. This is indeed a very proud achievement for us,” said Nangolo.
Eenhana Town Council Head of Marketing and Economics, Muandingi Ndawedwa, said that this year’s expo is expected to attract a huge number of exhibitors, both local and international.
“The expo has grown in terms of the number of visitors and exhibitors. The number of visitors is also expected double and it will be much bigger and better than the previous years,” he said.
Minister for Economic Planning and Director-General of the National Planning Commission, Tom Alweendo, will be the keynote speaker at the expo gala dinner on 3 June.
The main objective of the expo is to introduce businesses to the unique opportunities that exist in Eenhana and the region, while at the same time acting as a networking opportunity.
