A pre-departure orientation for 16 students and three teachers from the Windhoek International School (WIS) was held at the official residence of the High Commissioner of Malaysia in Namibia, Hishamuddin Ibrahim, recently.
The orientation session was organised by the Malaysian High Commission, in conjunction with the WIS Cultural Trip to Malaysia, which will take place from 10 to 20 July.
During the session, the teachers and students from WIS were briefed about Malaysia and places of interest that they will be visiting, such as the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park, the Taman Negara National Park and Kapas Island. They will also be spending several days in the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, the historic state of Malacca and Kuala Terengganu. Ibrahim is proud that Malaysia was chosen as the cultural trip destination for WIS students this year. The high commissioner also expressed his hope that the teachers and students will learn about and experience Malaysia’s diverse culture and society, which truly embodies the slogan of ‘Malaysia Truly Asia’.
