THE first-ever Windhoek Poetry Festival will be taking place this weekend at the Goethe-Institut Namibia on 26 and 27 May.
On Friday night, expect to be blown away with a live spoken word performance show, by a line up of pre-seleted poets.
The show will also include a musical act and a performance by a visiting guest poet.
This will be followed by an open mic session for those in the audience, who feel like expressing themselves.
On Saturday, the day starts with a creative market from 13h00.
From 14h00 to 16h00, there will be workshops on writing, performance, publishing and distribution.
From 16h00 to 17h00, there will be a skills exchange session. From 17h00 to 18h00 there will be a meet and greet and sharing session.
At 19h00, doors open for the live spoken word performance show, which will also include a musical act and a performance by another visiting guest poet.
This session will be followed by another open mic session, in which members of the audience can take part.
