STANDARD Bank has always been a vehement supporter of the local arts and entertainment community, and as such, the bank prides itself on being a sponsor of the Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs), annually. This year, the bank sponsored three categories to the tune of N$250 000. The categories are Best Pan African Artist of the Year, won by Cassper Nyovest, Best Group/ Duo, won by House Guru Gang and the Best Traditional category, won by Christmas featuring Kamati. “Standard Bank is pleased to be part of this local music spectacle, which is geared towards promoting and recognising the talent that creates the soundtrack of our lives. Music transcends culture, belief and age, and it unifies through storytelling and lingers in the fibre of our existence. I am therefore proud that we were able to sponsor categories that not only honoured local artists, but also international ones. Congratulations to all our winners and we wish you many more prosperous years in the industry,” said Standard Bank Acting Head of Marketing Sigrid Tjijorokisa at the bank’s NAMAs prize-giving ceremony, which was held at the Maerua Rooftop last week.
