THE slow growth of the Namibian economy in 2016 was hugely affected by entrepreneurs inflating the cost of their services rendered to government, while they siphoned off funds.
This is according Minister of Economic Planning and Director-General of National Planning Commission, Tom Alweendo, who pointed out that the country’s slow growth was largely due to entrepreneurs, who are squandering government’s financial resources recklessly, while overcharging.
He warned entrepreneurs to emphasise quality and value for money, when working for government.
Alweendo made the remarks at the Eenhana Trade and Business Expo gala dinner, which was held last Friday at the town.
