THE Warehouse Theatre is mostly known as a concert venue, and for hosting many a boozy night filled with romantic interludes and great music, but little has been written about their delicious food.
The main chef in Warehouse kitchen is Conor Cortin, and he gave Confidente a little taste of the bar food on offer last week.
The kitchen boasts an international food ensemble, including cuisine from Germany, France and Italy. The Mashura Pizza is an absolute favourite with clientele, and is named after the resident house band. In fact, all the pizzas are creatively named after various sections within the Warehouse Theatre. If pizza is not your thing, and you want to nibble on some meat, then the Big Man Basket is for you. It includes four chicken wings, four samoosas, four spring rolls, four meatballs and 180g of chips, and is served with aioli sauce and ketchup. This is definitely a meal fit for a hungry king or for a group of four people enjoying a night out. The pork or chicken schnitzel burgers are amazing. This dish is served with a side salad of lettuce, tomato and cucumber, and 150g of chips. And every bite tastes like more. One meal that will not disappoint anyone is the four chicken wings with 180g of chips, which is served with aioli sauce and ketchup. The chicken wings are made with a secret ingredient that Chef Cortin does not want to reveal. He, however, did mention that all the food is prepared with fresh ingredients daily, which includes all the fruits and vegetables. The equipment used is always kept clean, to ensure good quality food, prepared within 15 to 30 minutes. So, make a turn at the Warehouse Theatre, between Tuesdays and Saturdays, from 16h00 and 21h00, and be prepared for your taste buds to be blown away.
