INTELLIGENT Digital Solutions, a company that specialises in offering digital solutions and ideas, recently launched an online station called Buzz-Fi Radio.
The Namibian-based online radio station started streaming mainly music in May, and then began with programming late last month.
Buzz-Fi is targeting people between the ages of 15 to 65, and offers content galore, including entertainment and education programs, news, religious programs, sport shows and social and cultural interactions.
It operates from 06h00 to 21h00 on weekdays and Sundays, and from 06h00 to 11h30 on Fridays and Saturdays.
Surprisingly, in world where many have predicted the fading away of radio, Buzz-Fi is bucking this trend. Intelligent Digital Solutions founder, Jonas Nendongo, who spoke to Confidente recently, said that the radio station is largely based on the concept of freedom of expression.“We are giving new presenters the opportunity to fully express themselves, in a way they feel most comfortable with,” Nendongo said. The presenters are young and full of life, and hail from different backgrounds. Some of the presenters are totally new to radio, while others have experience in the creative industry. This makes Buzz- Fi Radio a perfect medium of communication, not only to Namibians, but for anyone who has access to the internet. Buzz-Fi does not censor music, which makes it an R-rated online radio station, and this is because they want to “tell it like it is”.
Their web domain, www. radio.buzz-fi.com.na, can be accessed from a smartphone, tablet computer or even a laptop.
