Swapo Khomas regional coordinator, Elliot Mbako, says that those who using their “degrees and money” to flagrantly disrespect the leadership of the party, and destabilise it from within, will be named and shamed soon.
Mbako was speaking earlier today at a media conference, where the Swapo Khomas regional executive committee officially endorsed Hage Geingob as the sole candidate for the party presidency at the upcoming November elective congress.
Mbako also said that all candidates that are put forth by Geingob for election at the congress should be voted into the positions beneath him, as he (Geingob) “must work with people he trusts”, and who are a heartbeat away from his presidency.
Mbako’s warning to those who are allegedly using their money to undermine party processes comes amid continued allegations of bribery and other dubious strategies being deployed in the run-up to Swapo Congress.
“Shame on them, be warned, the clock is ticking, it is just a matter of time and we will expose you all, naming and shaming you. As the build-up to the Swapo Party Congress for 2017 is gaining momentum, numerous other unwarranted elements are also surfacing,” Mbako said.
According to Mbako, he has observed in recent times, how some well-educated and well-ff comrades, even in the Khomas region, are fragrantly disrespecting the party leadership and their authority.
“They insult, they disrupt and they seek attention. Everyone knows the ‘Breaking News’, SMS/WhatsApp messages, which have been targeting the president, the first lady, ministers of government and some other individuals, who likely differ with their sentiments, their rude approach and their lack of principles,” said Mbako.
He stressed that some of these “evils” are aimed at individuals, while others are hell-bent on destabilising the smooth operations of Swapo, towards its congress, and beyond.
“We may look poor. We may look as if we are not sophisticated, but I can assure the Swapo Party President, Dr Hage G. Geingob, that we are principled, we are guided in our democratic approach and will refrain from the anarchy that is being advocated…”
“Our silence is not an inability to write or to speak. Our silence is not stupidity. Yet be assured of one thing, come congress, Geingob will be uncontested, for we rally behind him in full force.”
Mbako also called on all Khomas delegates to the congress to support any candidate put forth by Geingob.
