THE Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources has refuted reports that it will no longer be issuing recreational (angling) fishing permits during weekends and public holidays.
“We are humbled to inform the public that the ministry did not stop issuing of such permits during weekends and public holidays,” ministry spokesperson De Wet Siluka said.
The ministry are being issues as follows:
•Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 to 13h00 and 14h00 to 17h00 at the ministry’s Windhoek head office;
•Monday to Friday from 08h00 to 17h00 and the ministry’s coastal offices; and
•Weekends and public holidays from 08h00 to 13h00 at the ministry’s coastal offices.
“The ministry further would like to apologise for any inconveniency such reports may have caused. This statement applies to recreational fishing for marine resources only,” Siluka added.
