… Says SA ruling party needs 50/50 gender policy for Top Six

SWAPO Party Women’s Council (SPWC) Secretary, Eunice Iipinge, has urged South African’s ruling party, the African National Congress (ANC), to put mechanisms in place to ensure that women are elected into the party’s Top Six posts.
At the 54th ANC elective conference held in Nasrec, Johannesburg this week, men emerged as victors in five of the six top posts in the ruling party.
South African Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa defeated Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma by 2 440 to 2 261 in the race for the party presidency post.
