A decade of infighting and leadership battles in the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW) and its affiliates are affecting Namibian workers negatively, as unionists continue to take sides in Swapo factional battles, ahead of ruling party congresses.
The just-concluded Sixth Swapo Congress was no different, which saw only one out of the four NUNW Central Executive Committee (CEC) candidates, Anna Shiweda, being elected to the Swapo Central Committee (CC), which is the highest ruling party decision-making body between congresses.
