… Says exposing children to domestic violence feeds GBV

AS the world commemorates 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Poiyah Media stood out by sharing their voice on behalf of the voiceless.
Starting on 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) and ending on 10 December (Human Rights Day) the 16-day-long global campaign is a time to galvanise action to end violence against women and girls around the world.
Founder of Poiyah Media, Ilke Akwenye, expressed her sadness at this notion that has left many households in despair.
“According to Sister Namibia the two most common forms of GBV in Namibia are domestic violence and rape, both of which disproportionately affect Namibian women more than men (over 90 percent).
