… Namcor MD targeted by those eyeing contracts worth N$3bn at parastatal
By Patience Nyangove
A 50 percent oil products procurement mandate and strategic fuel storage project contracts worth about N$3 billion, which the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) will award in 2018, are alleged to be at the centre of managing director Immanuel Mulunga’s victimisation by the parastatal’s board, Confidente can reveal.
The Namcor board, chaired by Patrick Kauta, forced Mulunga to go on leave on Monday, despite objections by Public Enterprises Minister, Leon Jooste.
The board accuses Mulunga of allegedly irregularly influencing the awarding of a N$2.2 million oil products supply contract to Hyrax Oil.
