LIFELINE/ChildLine Namibia project manager, Bernardus Harageib, says that pervasive violent abuse, harassment and discrimination continue to plague the country, and that the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, as well as people living with HIV, face violence on a daily basis.
Harageib, who was speaking last Friday during a World Aids Day commemoration held in Katutura, said further that most hate crimes are not reported to the police, and those that are reported, are frequently not classified as hate crimes by the authorities.
