… Get Rich is a baker by day and rapper by night
By Jeoffrey Mukubi
GET Rich has been a trend ever since he dropped a video for one of his songs titled My N*gger Get Rich, last year, but the baker by day and rapper by night, says he is no gimmick and is adamant that he will one day hit it big-time, including winning at the Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) and becoming an international star.
Social media was set alight by his overly outdated hip-hop swagger, which sees him wearing baggy jeans, extra large T-shirts, a do-rag, while performing offbeat rap songs.
His debut album titled True Story is his best work yet, and it seems that although he has not broken into the mainstream music scene just yet, he is still recording music that, one day he feels will propel him onto the international hip-hop scene.
Get Rich started recording his music back in 2013 at Defy GZ studio in Grootfontein, where he recorded his first track, titled My n*gger lets go, which is not featured in the album. “A friend of mine from Rundu, who was doing kwaito music at the time, motivated me to start making music and I never looked back since then,” said Get Rich during an interview with Confidente.
