… Student movement rejects tribalism, regionalism and Swapo factions
By Elvis Muraranganda
THE recently-elected leadership of the Namibia National Students Organisation (NANSO) says it will rid the student movement off all political influence, especially from the ruling Swapo Party, which it believes has destroyed its image, after students become embroiled in ruling party factionalism.
Speaking during a wide-ranging interview with Confidente this week, the NANSO leadership, led by its first female president Ester Simon, stressed that past politicking in the movement has dented its relationship with the government of the day.
