THE Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR), has commenced the process of consulting industry stakeholders amid concerns relating to gazetted new levies and fees for marine resources.
Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Bernhard Esau, last week highlighted that he had taken note of fishing Industry concerns and had instructed his officials to consult thoroughly with all stakeholders on fees and levies, including landed value, and report back to him with well-considered options for his consideration.
“I am informed that this consultation process is now underway, and I hope to receive the report soon,” he told the industry.
