LOIDE Amadhila’s (LA) love for fashion grew into a successful online business, after launching the renowned 264Online, a virtual fashion store that offers elegant, modern yet affordable fashion.
In addition, she also founded Chrisla Essentials, which offers 11 types of essential oils for the body and face.
In an interview with Confidente’s Marianne Nghidengwa (MN) recently, Loide passionately spoke about making ends meet in the locally untapped market of online shopping.
She says that the key in building a successful virtual business lies in creating a life time customer value so that clients not only come back for more but also share their experience with their friends and family.
When not doing all things fashion, Loide who is a mother of two boys enjoys spending quality time with friends.
MN: Briefly tell us about yourself.
LA: My name is Loide Amadhila. I was born in Eenhana, in the Ohangwena region. I am married and a mother of two very energetic boys. I consider myself a social media entrepreneur, having founded 264 Online, which is Namibia’s first online clothing store and Chrisla Essentials.
MN: Tell us about the establishment of 264 Online and services it offers?
LA: 264Online, is a virtual fashion store that offers fashion retail therapy at the shopper’s convenience. We offer elegant, modern and affordable fashion.
The website was launched in February 2016. I have a passion for fashion and styling and always wanted to have my own business. I decided to start an online store as it will be open 24/7, so that just helps in getting the message across that online shopping is incredible. You can shop from the comfort of your own home, any time, anywhere. Having an online store also allows me to run it from anywhere, and to continue to work full−time.
All the obstacles that others are facing now we have already surpassed and improved our services accordingly, and this sets us apart from the rest, this makes us the market leaders as we constantly improve our services to meet our clients’ demands.
MN: What latest trends can clients look out for in the near future?
LA: Fashion trends are constantly changing so do we, thus whatever is current we will have it. We are continuously looking into the future and predicting the next big trend.

The dream is to bring the truly amazing benefits of essential oils to every home, family, and lifestyle.
MN: What are opportunities and difficulties facing the businesses?
LA: Running an online business is a fairly new concept in Namibia, so it can be quite difficult to get people talking about the store when there isn’t a physical shop to go to. Namibians are still skeptical about online shopping.
But the opportunities are endless, as on the internet, even the smallest online retailer can be as attractive and functional as the largest store, without t h e need t o have a p hy s i c a l presence on the street corner, thus getting the opportunity to establish ourselves on a level playing field with larger competitors. Being an online retailer allows my brand to connect with a myriad of different people from all across the city and the country.
For Chrisla Essentials the challenges have been finding the right packaging materials locally and getting local retail outlets to stock our products.
The opportunities are however great, as essentials oils is a new untapped market in Namibia and that provides prospects for growth.
MN: What advice would you give someone hoping to venture in similar businesses?
LA: Persistence is key and it is much of what separates the successful from the pure wishful thinkers. Having that fire in your belly is what keeps any young business owner successful. Distinguish yourself by staying motivated even in the toughest of circumstances and always remember that obstacles are part of anything you do, and the ride isn’t necessarily smooth, but reaching your goals is worth every one of those pitfalls.
MN: Where do you see the businesses in the next five years?
LA: For Chrisla Essentials to be a household name and a successful direct selling company that is a leader in customer service and that has a loyal customer following. For 264 Online to continue breaking barriers of skepticism of online shopping in the Namibian market and to be an online fashion store to be reckoned with.
MN: Just what do you do for a little fun?
LA: I love spending time with family and friends.
