…Over 600 youth football coaches benefitted countrywide

THE Namibia Football Association (NFA), in collaboration with GIZ has completed a Basic Coaching Certificate Course youth football coaches for girls in a bid to produce qualified coaches in all the 14 political regions.
The course was conducted by the former Brave Gladiators head coach, Jacqui Shipanga, who is now a FIFA Instructor and General Manager of Women’s Football in the NFA.
The course also had huge interest with 57 applicants from aspiring football coaches but only 36 coaches could be accommodated.
The three day coaching course that started on the 23rd and ended on the 25th of February at the NFA Girls Elite Centre, received huge interest mainly from school teachers and former football players who came as far as Rundu, Grootfontein, Keetmanshoop, Okahandja, Swakopmund and Gobabis.
Head of Women Football, Jacky Gertze, said that the initiative was financially supported by the Association’s partners like GIZ, who ensured that meals for the participants were covered including stationary and equipment to support the instructor’s work.
