THE first Theatre Zone production titled Thinning Lines is scheduled to show on 2 and 3 March at the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN).
Thinning lines was written and directed by Ndakalako Shilongo and tells a story about relationships in Davids’ household. The drama unfolds plenty of issues that occur in the family, such as infidelity, chronic illnesses, sibling rivalry and stress.
It specifically revolves around a depressed mother, Mrs Davids, played by Odile Gertze and a cheating husband, Mr Davids played by Chops Tshoopara. Their complex relationship affects the whole household, which seems to be a broken home.
One of their daughters suffers from sleepwalking and the older, a rebellious teenager. Whilzhan Gelderbloem acts as Odile’s older sister, who does not want to grow up. Their relationship is on the rocks as they battle with intricate sibling matters. Other actors include, Jennifer Timbo, Justina Nekwiita Panduleni, Fillipus and Bret Kamwi. Speaking to Confidente about the selection of the cast Shilongo said: “It took me a while to choose this specific cast, but it all worked out and they are simply just amazing to work with”.
