THE Ministry of Finance this month appointed an external forensic auditing firm to look into dozens of claims submitted by 25 health service providers it suspects of submitting fraudulent Public Service Medical Aid Scheme (PSEMAS) claims that run into several millions of dollars.
The finance ministry has for nearly 18 months refused to pay the 25 health service providers until investigations into their claims are finalised.
