By Jeoffrey Mukubi BOTSWANA-born afro-beat artists Sirishebo Nshimwe also known as Shanky is set to collaborate with more local artists as he brings his unique blend of Sesubia vernacular with up tempo afro beats to the Namibian shores. He has so far collaborated with a few Namibian artists, including DJ Siya and songstress Blossom. Shanky says he plans to shoot his latest two music videos in Namibia and collaborate with more Namibian artists including PDK and D-Naff. “I performed at PDK’s Odikwa album launches in Walvisbay, Rundu and Katima Mulilo,” he said before adding that he just want to promote various African cultures. The 27-year old Shanky hails from Satau in Botswana and decided to use his singing talent to produce music which encourages people to love one another and revive the spirit of sharing. The videos he intends to shoot includes a song from his album titled Meeno Ongwe featuring Blossom. Shanky explained that he was motivated by the likes of Winnie Mashaba and Matlakala among others who sing about the struggles in life. He released his first gospel album in September 2009 which was titled Re ka se tsene. The album was aimed at teaching people about gospel. He however, decided to change his music genre in 2011 and came up with a different and unique genre and landed on African pop hence his second album Hard worker.
