APPROXIMATELY 97 illegal immigrants were arrested by the Namibian Police’s female officers during their Basadi operation from 7 to 10 May countrywide.
During a media briefing on the operation’s success, Deputy Inspector General for Administration, Major-General Anne-Marie Nainda said that the illegal immigrants were mostly from Angola, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and China, who were arrested in terms of the Namibian Customs and Excise Act, Act 20 of 1998.
