MORE than 200 unemployed graduates protested on the 20th July against government’s apparent failure to create employment for them and demanded that the authorities immediately address the situation.
They handed a petition to Mateus Kaholongo, the Director at Cabinet Secretariat, Office of the Prime Minister, which listed their concerns. The petition, which was read by Johannes Kondjeleni, demanded that all vacant government posts be filled, with immediate effect, by graduates who are jobless.
The issue has been long coming says labour expert, Herbert Jauch. “It even surprised me that it took longer. It is not news that we have a huge unemployment issue even for the young people with education,” said Jauch.
