MY name is Dzinisa Ngcongo also known as Drencho_POET_Loads because of the love I have for poetry. I currently reside in Windhoek, Klein Windhoek. In 2016, I joined a very useful website called Poetry Soup, where thousands of poets and poetesses write poems of various categories. This has helped me to advance in languages [especially English] and also to meet new people from different parts of the world. According to my observation, poetry has frightfully declined and is slowly dying especially in our country Namibia. I use this personification because I value poetry as a gift from God to humanity. Poetry is life. Poetry is a creative practice that shapes a person’s writing skills. It helps a person to advance in language and mature his or her vocabulary. Poetry is an expression of emotions that one uses to define experiences of life.
Dear Namibians, I have personally met many young people in Namibia who are exceptionally gifted in poetry and creative writing, who are interested but are ignored by their own families and communities. They need to be encouraged in order to nourish this talent.
I humbly beseech the Ministry of Education, parents and all the citizens to come to the aid of young people who desire to develop their talents in the field of poetry. My wish is to see many young people publish poetry books nationally and even up to the international level. If we work together; I believe that these girls and boys would be authors, poets and poetesses at a young age. “If you can’t be a good poet, be a good poem,”
