WHEREAS a lot of newly graduates sit at home unable to find jobs, Goodwill Domingues chose a different path of job creation while inspiring others through writing. As one of the young authors in the country, Domingues, who just launched his second book in August, knew who he was and what his passion is. At the age of 21, Domingues sold his first book which was published and launched by his publishing company, Review Namibia three years ago. His first book titled ‘Philosophy of Progress’ was published in 2016 while ‘Code Named Progress’ was published in 2018. The 24 year old University of Namibia graduate now holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Studies and works as a marketing specialist at Ef-fective Media. The young entrepreneur is also responsible for the day to day running the Review Namibia and the team through various publishing tasks and author activation campaigns. Born and raised at Oneshila in Oshakati, Goodwill told confidente that his parents taught him the art of hard work and honesty. They have always encouraged him to go out and work hard for whatever he wanted. Narrating his journey as an author, Domingues told Confidente that he wrote his first book at an early age of 19. “In 2013 I started writing my first book I had no idea where to get it published or where to start with its marketing. I had written over 240 pages of different kinds of stories and how they related to different aspects of life and what it means to dream big. I had been thinking about a launch for over a year and I finally met a man who changed my insight on business forever. I ended up self-publishing and started my own publishing company,” he stated. While so many youths are still struggling to find their passion and calling, Domingues noted that life has taught him that it is easier to have a vision and work towards it rather than not have anything. According to him, when one has a vision and a destination in mind there are no such things as lessons but just hurdles to overcome and focus on your destination. “I have learned that in life it easier to have a vision and work towards that vision rather than not have anything and still hit rock bottom,” Domingues noted further. According to the young writer, most of his writings were inspired by his parents who have supported his dreams from the beginning. “My life changed when I first realised that changing your dreams to reality is as easy as the night changing into day. After that I simply continued to pursue dream after dream and every time it gets easier,” he emphasised. The young entrepreneur said that he has his bucket list full for the next five years. “Let me just say I see myself involved in all kinds of publishing industries mostly digital and global marketing. So I have a lot of work to do. “To everyone wishing and hoping to start doing things on their own, just go out there and make things happen,. You cannot get anything if you simply hope or wish for it. Plant the seed and water it and watch it become a huge tree. That is how life works on many different levels. Yes, there is never a lack of opportunity. We live in world abundant with opportunities. Never sleep!,” Dominques encouraged. His first book is available for ordering at email@example.com and the second book is available for purchase at Uncle Spikes Book exchange.
